Tag/Day 0.A auf dem Weg/on the way to MSC WORLD EUROPA in Genua/Genoa, Italy

Wir fahren auf die Landzunge von Antibes und genießen die schöne Ausschicht auf das Meer, auf Nizza und die Provence.



We drive to the headland of Antibes, France, and enjoy the beautiful view of the sea, Nice, France, and Provence.

We continue to Nice. Since we had a good night's sleep today, we got to Nice at lunchtime.



Weiter geht es nach Nizza. Da wir heute erst mal in Ruhe ausgeschlafen haben, sind wir erst zur Mittagszeit in Nizza.





Im Stadthafen liegt SEADREAM II. Werden wir mit AZAMARA QUEST auch hier im kommenden Jahr anlegen? Wo könnte man dann hier für eine Woche parken? Ich bestelle doch lieber ein Hotelzimmer, so dass wir hier das Auto lassen können. Oder wir fliegen.

We will have lunch at Les Pêcheurs, a restaurant with an Italian patron that cooks French. Bruno is happy with his fish. But I'll have a beef tartare: excellent!



Wir gehen mittags in Les Pêcheurs essen. Ein Italiener, der französisch kocht. Bruno ist mit seinem Fisch zufrieden. Aber ich nehme ein Rindertartar: absolute Spitze!

Wir fahren weiter Richtung Monaco. Unterwegs kommen wir in Villefranche-sur-Mer vorbei. Wir stehen genau auf halber Höhe zwischen Èze und Villefranche. Damals waren wir mit der NORWEGIAN GEM 2007 hier.

We continue to Monte Carlo, Monaco. We were last here on NORWEGIAN JADE 2008 and drove here from Cannes, France. Back then, we were just upstairs at the casino. Today, we managed to get into the marina. The ferry is lovely so you can get to the other side of the harbor.



Weiter geht es nach Monte Carlo. Hier waren wir zuletzt mit der NORWEGIAN JADE 2008 und sind von Cannes mit dem Auto hierher gefahren. Damals waren wir nur oben am Spielcasino. Heute schaffen wir es mal in den Yachthafen zu kommen. Sehr schön ist die Fähre, damit man auf die andere Seite des Hafens kommt.

Zufällig liegt die AZAMARA QUEST im Hafen. Wir sind im kommenden Jahr mit ihr unterwegs. Wir waren ja schon mal mit der AZAMARA PURSUIT 2019 unterwegs.



Coincidentally, AZAMARA QUEST is in the harbor. We will be traveling with her next year. We've already been out and about on AZAMARA PURSUIT 2019.

Unfortunately, Sanremo remains on my wish list and has to wait until the next trip. We had already stayed at the Holiday Inn Genoa when we arrived at MSC MERAVIGLIA 2017. We, therefore, knew that the access to the parking garage was above the hotel. The rooms have been renovated. We bought Italian adapters on our last trip because the old sockets are still installed in older hotels. And they only work with an adapter so that you have the new Italian standard. We have a beautiful view of the harbor. But the ferries are somehow always in the picture.



Sanremo bleibt weiter auf meiner Wunschliste und muss leider bis zur nächsten Reise warten. Im Holiday Inn Genua haben wir bereits bei der Anreise zu MSC MERAVIGLIA 2017 gewohnt. Wir wussten daher, dass die Zufahrt zum Parkhaus oberhalb des Hotels ist. Die Zimmer wurden renoviert. Wir hatten bei der letzten Reise italienische Adapter gekauft, weil es auch noch in älteren Hotels noch die alten Steckdosen verbaut sind. Und die fuktionieren nur mit einem Adapter, damit man die neue italienische Norm hat. Wir haben einen schönen Blick zum Hafen. Aber die Fähren sind irgendwie immer im Bild.

Wir fahren in die Stadt, um zu essen und auch das Auto zu laden. Aber wir haben Pech! Die Ladesäulen sind defekt. Wir suchen nicht weiter und laufen durch die schön beleuchtete Stadt.



We drive into town to eat and also to charge the car. But we're unlucky! The charging stations are defective. We look no further and walk through the beautifully lit city.

We eat at Trattoria Rosmarino. My colleagues from our office in Genoa recommended it to me. We get the second to last table when we make a reservation by phone. And we are not allowed to come at our desired time, but only when the restaurant opens. A queue is already waiting for the opening. The pasta with Pesto Genovese is to die for. I should have taken a massive portion of it. But then I would have missed the tuna, which was good as hell. I'll come back here next time. Fantastico!!!



Wir essen in der Trattoria Rosmarino. Meine Kollegen von unserem Büro in Genua haben es mir empfohlen. Wir bekommen den vorletzten Tisch, als wir telefonisch reservieren. Und wir dürfen nicht zu unserer gewünschten Zeit kommen, sondern nur zur Öffnungszeit des Restaurants. Eine Schlange wartet schon auf die Öffnung. Die Pasta mit Pesto Genovese ist himmlich. Ich hätte eine Riesenportion davon nehmen sollen. Aber dann hätte ich den Thunfisch verpasst, der höllisch gut war. Hierher komme ich garantiert beim nächsten Mal wieder. Fantastico!!!

Wir müssen morgen das Auto in der Garage Ponte dei Mille abstellen und anschließend zum Flughafen. Ich habe aber keine Lust, das Gepäck nach oben zum Bahnhof Piazza Principe zu schleppen. Also recherchieren wir schon mal für morgen. So können wir noch im Parkhaus des Bahnhofs unser Auto laden. Vor dem Bahnhof hält der Flughafenbus Volabus. Von hieraus kommt man direkt in den Bahnhof rein und man kann dann der Beschilderung zur Metro folgen, und bis dahin geht es auch ohne Treppenlaufen. Alle Wege sind mit Rolltreppen und Fahrstühlen ausgestattet. Nur für den letzten Aufgang wieder hoch zum Fernbusbahnhof gegenüber dem Kreuzfahrtterminal bzw. zum Hotel New Alexander, in dem wir damals vor der MSC FANTASIA 2009 gewohnt haben, muss man ohne Hilfe einer Rolltreppe bzw. Aufzugs überwinden. Auch wurde zwischenzeitlich der Fahrstuhl zum Tiefbahnhof zurückgebaut, so dass man auch nicht mehr durch den Tiefbahnhof barrierefrei in den Bahnhof kommt.



Tomorrow we have to park the car in the Ponte dei Mille garage and then go to the airport. But I need to carry my luggage upwards to the Piazza Principe train station. So, let's do some research for tomorrow. So we can still charge our car in the train station parking garage. The Volabus airport bus stops in front of the train station. From here, you come straight into the train station, and you can then follow the signs to the metro, and you can get there without having to climb stairs. All paths are equipped with escalators and elevators. Only for the last climb back up to the long-distance bus station opposite the cruise terminal or to the Hotel New Alexander, where we stayed before joining MSC FANTASIA 2009, do you have to climb without the help of an escalator or elevator. The elevator to the lower station has also been dismantled so that it is no longer barrier-free to get to the station through the lower station.
